The Vertical Air Handling Unit is a large-scale central air conditioning terminal device featuring a vertical structural design, composed of multiple function sections including filtration, cooling/heating coil, humidification, fan, and sound attenuation. Its greatest advantages lie in powerful processing capacity, flexible installation, and easy maintenance — the tall vertical profile occupies a fraction of the floor space of a horizontal unit with equivalent airflow, making it ideal for projects with limited mechanical room space. The airflow range is exceptionally wide, effortlessly meeting the supply air demands of ultra-large spaces.
Large public buildings: airport terminals, high-speed rail stations, large stadiums, exhibition centers, and metro stations with high-occupancy large-space requirements. Industrial and specialized facilities: cleanrooms and large factories in electronics, pharmaceutical, and textile industries; data centers and hospitals with strict air quality and temperature/humidity control requirements. Commercial venues: large shopping centers, luxury hotels, and theaters using vertical units as core air handling equipment.
Under the fan's action, the unit draws in indoor return air through the return grille while introducing a proportional amount of outdoor fresh air; the two streams mix thoroughly in the mixing section to ensure air freshness while recovering return air energy for efficiency. The mixed air enters the filter section, passing through pre-filters and medium-efficiency filters to remove dust and particulates. Purified air then flows through the cooling/heating coil — chilled water in summer for cooling and dehumidification, hot water in winter for heating; an optional humidifier section adds moisture via wet-film humidifier to reach the set humidity. The fully treated air is pressurized by the centrifugal fan in the fan section and distributed through the ductwork system to all zones of the building.
